About the role
Hebbia is seeking an engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure powering our Matrix platform. You will focus on writing production-grade code to ensure system performance and reliability for our financial sector clients.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage production services from initial design through deployment and incident response.
- Analyze and optimize code paths to remove performance bottlenecks.
- Conduct post-mortem analysis to implement architectural fixes rather than manual workarounds.
- Develop custom observability frameworks, alerting logic, and debugging utilities.
- Establish and monitor service level objectives for platform components.
- Manage infrastructure capacity and cost-efficiency through automation.
- Create and maintain internal deployment platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with product teams to design reliable systems and contribute to core codebases.
- Enhance infrastructure security via threat modeling and automated compliance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on shipping and maintaining production services.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, C++, or Rust.
- Experience in SRE, Production Engineering, or infrastructure-focused software roles.
- Understanding of distributed systems and container orchestration.
- Knowledge of OS-level concepts and cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Background in building observability stacks and CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in an organization with a software-focused SRE culture.
- Experience building platforms for AI/ML workloads or high-throughput document processing.

Practical notes
Salary: $160,000 to $350,000. Benefits include unlimited PTO, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, daily catered lunches, and dinner credits. Parental leave is 4 months for birthing parents and 3 months for non-birthing parents, with a $15,000 lifetime fertility benefit. The role includes a competitive equity grant.
