Software Engineer - AI/ML, Multiple Locations

About the role

Join our team to develop software and infrastructure supporting large and small language models. You will build maintainable code and prompts while ensuring our AI solutions align with safety, privacy, and accessibility standards.

What you'll do

• Break down project requirements into actionable tasks and provide accurate delivery estimates.
• Design and implement AI solutions using LLMs, SLMs, embeddings, RAG, and orchestration patterns.
• Perform fine-tuning and training for custom machine learning models.
• Write clean, testable code and participate in peer code reviews.
• Manage live service operations, including acting as a Designated Responsible Individual to maintain system uptime and meet SLA requirements.
• Use telemetry, logs, and debugging tools to monitor system performance and resolve technical issues.
• Integrate security, compliance, and responsible AI practices into all development workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate user feedback and customer metrics into future product iterations.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience.
• Master degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated background or active interest in AI and machine learning technologies.

Practical notes

• Salary range: USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year for standard US locations.
• Salary range: USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year for San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.
