About the role
This position focuses on building the foundational visual computing architecture for our platform, covering everything from initial image acquisition to complex geometric reconstruction. We are seeking an engineer with deep expertise in 3D vision to join our early technical team and drive projects from initial research through to production deployment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create and deploy 3D computer vision algorithms, including SLAM, SfM, depth estimation, multi-view stereo, and robotics navigation.
- Produce high-quality, production-ready code that transitions effectively from experimental research to real-world application.
- Collaborate with the hardware engineering group to align software vision pipelines with physical product design.
- Architect and tune vision pipelines for high-volume data processing and optimized runtime performance.
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from rapid prototyping to final deployment.
- Contribute to the long-term technical strategy and codebase development as the company scales.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven research background in robotics or computer vision, demonstrated through thesis work, publications, or academic projects.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python with the ability to deliver production-grade code immediately.
- Practical experience with at least one of the following: SLAM, SfM, multi-view stereo, or depth estimation.
- Familiarity with OpenCV, PyTorch, and related industry-standard vision libraries.
- Ability to operate effectively in an early-stage, fast-moving environment with limited formal structure.
Nice to have
- Experience with neural-based approaches to SLAM, SfM, or depth estimation.
- Background in integrating computer vision software with custom sensor arrays or camera hardware.
- Knowledge of GPU acceleration techniques.
- History of working in startup environments.
- Track record of open-source contributions or academic publishing.
