What you'll do
- Work with various teams and leaders to define event objectives, create strategies, implement plans, and assess outcomes for ongoing improvement.
- Oversee all aspects of event campaigns, including project scopes, resource allocation, budgets, contracts, and timelines, ensuring everything stays on track.
- Use your understanding of Gusto's market position and target audiences to guide event decisions, such as format, venue, messaging, and audience selection.
- Plan and produce diverse events, from large company-owned gatherings (500+ attendees) to trade show exhibits, local events, and exclusive customer experiences, to boost brand loyalty and accelerate sales.
- Build relationships with external partners like industry organizers, agencies, and vendors, negotiating terms and ensuring smooth delivery.
- Coordinate internal and external resources for each event, promoting collaboration with Gusto's creative teams and production partners.
- Manage event budgets accurately, measure results against goals, prepare summary reports, and offer recommendations to senior leadership for event marketing.
- Advance the event marketing and production standards at Gusto, championing innovative experience design, new event technologies, and creative production methods.
- Utilize AI tools to improve event marketing processes, from audience analysis and content customization to post-event reporting and campaign optimization, enhancing efficiency and insights.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in event marketing and production, with a history of organizing various events (trade shows, activations, conferences, owned events for 500+ attendees, and VIP experiences) of different complexities and scales.
- A strong interest in event marketing and production, with a willingness to be directly involved in execution, moving between strategic planning and detailed operations.
- Excellent project management and communication abilities, demonstrated by successfully managing multiple stakeholders across different levels and locations, keeping complex programs on schedule and within budget.
- Experience managing and collaborating with internal creative teams and external agencies, ensuring consistent quality in production.
- Knowledgeable about innovative experience design and emerging event technology, always seeking ways to improve the craft.
- A natural collaborator who enjoys building relationships across the organization to achieve results.
- An inquisitive self-starter who asks questions and uses the answers to provide clarity and direction to the team.
- Familiarity with AI and a willingness to integrate AI-powered tools into your work for increased efficiency and new possibilities.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, undefined environment while developing scalable programs and processes.
- Frequent travel throughout North America is required for this position.

All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs). Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. AI is a core part of how work is done at Gusto; all team members are expected to engage with relevant AI tools and develop their fluency. AI experience will be assessed during interviews. Employees based in Scottsdale, Denver, San Francisco, or New York are expected to work from the office approximately 2-3 days per week, or more depending on the role. A secure, reliable internet connection is required for remote work days.
