GridCARE is seeking a Director of Utility Partnerships to lead multi-year engagements and secure strategic agreements with utility companies. This senior position requires a blend of business development acumen and deep utility sector knowledge, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with executive leadership. You will drive partnerships that contribute to significant long-term business growth.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Serve as GridCARE's primary contact for utility partners.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with utility executives and senior decision-makers, especially at key target utilities.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of utility contacts across various departments and levels.
- Guide strategic partnerships from initial contact through to the execution of commercial agreements.
- Meet and surpass utility partnership objectives.
- Identify valuable opportunities by understanding utility needs and market trends, then develop targeted engagement strategies.
- Clearly communicate GridCARE's value to utility decision-makers.
- Represent GridCARE at industry events to enhance visibility.
- Collaborate with leadership to create product and commercial strategies for utilities, aligning with company goals.
- Develop and implement partnership strategies that support company priorities.
- Provide structured feedback from utilities to inform product development and delivery.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, strategic partnerships, or senior utility leadership within the energy sector.
- An established network of utility industry contacts, including trusted relationships with senior executives at one or more target utilities.
- Deep understanding of the utility industry, state and federal regulations, and grid interconnection challenges.
- Adaptability, ownership, and comfort with ambiguity, characteristic of a startup environment.
- Experience combining utility-side work with exposure to the private sector (startup, strategy consulting, or technology).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Bachelor's degree.

Practical notes
- For Redwood City, a hybrid schedule is offered (3 days in office, 2 remote).
- Lunch is provided three days a week in the Redwood City office.
