Founding Machine Learning Engineer at Greylock Partners.
About the role
We are seeking a Founding Machine Learning Engineer to join an early-stage cybersecurity investment, valued at over $100 million at Seed. This role involves building and managing training and inference pipelines in cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and requires familiarity with MLOps practices. You will play a crucial part in developing a pioneering security solution.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and implement the foundational machine learning pipelines and codebase for a groundbreaking security solution.
- Transform research-grade machine learning experiments into reliable and repeatable processes suitable for enterprise deployment.
Requirements
- An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience, including at least 1 year working with large language models in a production setting.
- Experience in developing projects from inception to completion.
- Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively across various teams and adapt to new domains.
Nice to have
- Experience in the cybersecurity field.
- Familiarity with additional cloud platforms beyond GCP and AWS.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in designing and training machine learning models from the ground up.
- Experience with large and complex datasets, including data preprocessing and distributed training.
- Skills in performance tuning and evaluation of models through systematic experimentation and hyperparameter optimization.
- Ability to work closely with data and infrastructure teams to manage compute resources and ensure model reproducibility for deployment.
