Software Engineer, Developer Platform

About the role

The Enterprise Apps team is building an AI-native operating layer to automate internal workflows and data interactions across Greenhouse. You will design and implement the developer-facing tools, APIs, and frameworks that power this new platform. This is an opportunity to shape the architecture of internal systems that reduce manual effort for teams across the organization.

What you'll do

• Define architecture for AI and agentic systems, including memory, observability, and evaluation patterns.
• Create and maintain internal developer platforms, SDKs, and APIs to support automation.
• Develop production-ready services using Python and TypeScript.
• Build internal user interfaces and integrate with SaaS platforms like Slack, Salesforce, Jira, Workday, NetSuite, Zendesk, and Okta.
• Design PostgreSQL data models to support scalable automation and data analysis.
• Deploy and monitor services on AWS or GCP.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for documentation, testing, and operational runbooks.
• Provide availability for production support during agreed-upon windows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with a history of delivering production-grade APIs or SDKs.
• Full-stack capability, including experience with frontend frameworks like React for internal tooling.
• Experience managing SaaS integrations at scale, including OAuth, REST/GraphQL, webhooks, and idempotency.
• Practical knowledge of cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
• Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL data modeling skills.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest or Jest.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Terraform, and observability tools like Datadog or Rollbar.

• You will collaborate with a distributed team based in the US and Canada, requiring reasonable availability for coordination.
