About the role
Graphcore is at the forefront of developing AI computing infrastructure as part of the SoftBank Group. We are on the lookout for a Principal SLT Test Engineer to spearhead our System Level Test (SLT) initiatives and lead a newly formed team within the Product Test and Diagnosis department. This role is pivotal in shaping our testing capabilities and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

What you'll do
- Lead a dedicated team tasked with the implementation of SLT solutions specifically designed for multi-die AI processors, ensuring that all testing protocols are adhered to.
- Collaborate closely with various teams including Silicon, Test, and Design for Testability (DFT) to establish comprehensive manufacturing test strategies that align with product specifications.
- Forge partnerships with industry leaders to develop SLT systems that fulfill specific product requirements, enhancing the overall functionality and reliability of our offerings.
- Design and define test fixtures that encompass interface PCBs, sockets, cooling systems, and both structural and functional test equipment to facilitate effective testing processes.
- Create and refine engineering, production, and characterization test programs tailored for advanced SLT platforms, ensuring they meet industry standards and performance metrics.
- Oversee the management of test coverage throughout the entire testing flow, which includes Automated Test Equipment (ATE), board-level testing, blade testing, and in-field evaluations.
- Supervise the transition of test solutions to offshore vendors for New Product Introduction (NPI) releases, ensuring a smooth and efficient handover process.
- Conduct bench measurement correlation and provide support for silicon and board bring-up activities aimed at enhancing yield and performance.
- Utilize your expertise in top-level and board-level DFT strategies, particularly for 3D and multi-die products, to improve testing efficacy and product quality.
- Manage Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC) processes and facilitate inter-departmental workflows to ensure seamless collaboration and communication across teams.
Requirements
- A solid background in Functional Test or ATE Test Engineering, demonstrating a proven track record in these areas.
- Extensive experience in production testing for large-scale digital devices, showcasing your ability to handle complex testing environments.
- Strong proficiency in digital integrated circuits and advanced testing methodologies, ensuring you can navigate the technical challenges of the role.
- Familiarity with DFT components, including JTAG (IEEE 1149.x), Built-In Self-Test (BIST), and Memory Built-In Self-Test (MBIST), is essential for this position.
- Experience in functional testing of intricate systems, highlighting your capability to manage complex testing scenarios.
- A successful history of transferring products to volume manufacturing at Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facilities and contract manufacturers.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, cross-functional, and cross-company environments, demonstrating your adaptability and resilience.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving, with the flexibility to adjust to evolving requirements and challenges.
