Server CPU Hardware Systems Lead

About the role

Graphcore is hiring a Lead System Engineer to manage compute blade and rack validation for our AI compute systems. You will oversee the full validation lifecycle, directing silicon and system bring-up for ARM-based server architectures.

What you'll do

• Lead system enablement for first silicon and firmware to meet architecture specifications.
• Define organization-wide methodologies for hardware, firmware, and software integration.
• Build lab hardware and software tools to support blade and rack-level validation.
• Triage and resolve technical issues during post-silicon and production phases.
• Create and execute test plans for CPU, GPU, memory, HBM, and IO components.
• Innovate validation procedures and scripting tools to improve coverage and quality.

Requirements

• Extensive background in first silicon and system bring-up involving OS, firmware, and hardware.
• Deep knowledge of ARM or X86 architectures, SoC design, RAS, and power management.
• Proficiency with industry-standard buses including PCIe and CXL.
• Experience enabling storage and networking capabilities like DNS and DHCP in lab environments.
• Expertise in platform-level debug, device drivers, system BIOS, and OS interactions.
• Strong command of Linux, Windows, and hypervisors such as VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V.
• Proven technical program management skills and ability to coordinate with global teams.
• Understanding of datacenter technology stacks and development certification processes.

Nice to have

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 14+ years of experience in server compute rack or datacenter blade validation.
• Experience with the design and deployment of modern AI/ML rack-scale systems.
• Familiarity with ODM partner collaboration and hardware development best practices.
