Graphcore is on a mission to enhance its operational capabilities in the United States, and we are looking for a skilled People Operations Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the US People Lead by ensuring that our operational processes are both compliant and efficient as we scale. Your expertise will be vital in managing the foundational aspects of our people operations in this dynamic environment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the comprehensive onboarding process for new hires, which includes preparing contracts, conducting background checks, and liaising with various internal departments to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle, addressing changes in employment status, facilitating promotions, and coordinating offboarding processes to ensure a seamless experience for all staff.
- Collaborate with Sequoia One to administer employee benefits, manage payroll inputs, and maintain accurate documentation related to these processes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers in the US, addressing inquiries and resolving issues through an established ticketing system.
- Ensure the accuracy of data within the HR Information System (HRIS) and actively participate in the implementation of new service delivery models.
- Provide support for Global Mobility initiatives, assisting with visa applications and immigration processes for employees as needed.
- Maintain audit readiness by ensuring that all operational practices comply with US employment laws and regulations.
- Aid in the transition from current contractor support to a more permanent operational model tailored to the needs of the US region.
Requirements
- A solid background in US People or HR operations, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the field.
- Proven ability to manage processes related to the employee lifecycle and familiarity with HR information systems.
- Experience in benefits administration and managing relationships with external vendors.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the capacity to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in managing relationships with stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in the software, technology, or artificial intelligence sectors, providing insight into the unique challenges of these industries.
- Familiarity with supporting engineering or technical teams, understanding their specific operational needs.
- Knowledge of Professional Employer Organization (PEO) models, particularly Sequoia One, and how they function within HR operations.
- Experience managing teams that are distributed across multiple states, ensuring compliance with varying regional laws.
- Understanding of California labor laws and compliance requirements, which can be beneficial given the complexity of regulations in that state.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in HRIS management, ensuring data integrity and effective use of the system.
- Familiar with ticketing systems for managing employee inquiries and operational requests.
- Experienced in benefits administration and the intricacies involved in managing employee benefits packages.
- Knowledgeable about US labor laws and compliance standards to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Familiarity with Sequoia One and its functionalities as a PEO.
