As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing advanced data science techniques to enhance our understanding of cancer detection and improve our products.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Examine intricate, high-dimensional datasets derived from our multi-cancer early detection tests to uncover empirical patterns and share insights across various teams.
- Combine knowledge from cancer biology, DNA methylation, genomics, epidemiology, and statistical analysis to create predictive models that assess test performance and identify any inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including experts in machine learning, software engineering, clinical operations, laboratory work, research, and product development, to facilitate comprehensive project execution.
- Produce and present thorough scientific analyses that contribute to the understanding and development of our products.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Physics, Bioengineering, Cancer Genomics, Statistics, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, accompanied by at least 2 years of applicable experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with large-scale omics datasets, preferably utilizing R or Python.
- Familiarity with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data processing, statistical modeling, and machine learning frameworks, specifically in a clinical context to extract technical and biological insights.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capacity to work autonomously and effectively in interdisciplinary settings.
- A history of producing meticulous and detail-oriented work.
Nice to have
- Understanding of cancer epigenetics, tumor genetics, and the molecular mechanisms involved in oncogenesis.
- Experience with both traditional machine learning and contemporary artificial intelligence techniques.
- A record of scientific contributions, such as publications, development of tools, datasets, patents, or presentations at conferences.
- Proficiency in Python or R, along with experience in modern data science workflows, including Linux, Git, and reproducible data pipelines.
- An interest in translating research findings into practical, production-ready systems.

- Proficient in statistical analysis and predictive modeling using R or Python.
- Experience with NGS data processing and analysis.

Practical notes
This position offers a competitive annual salary range of $156,000 to $187,000, with actual compensation dependent on individual qualifications, skills, and location. In addition to the base salary, candidates may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and other incentives, as determined by company policies.
