Senior FullStack Engineer

Join Grafana Labs to build core components of our observability platform. You will develop tooling that empowers users to understand their application and infrastructure health. This role offers the chance to impact the out-of-the-box experience for millions of Grafana Cloud users.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain features across the entire software stack, from user interface to backend services and accompanying dashboards.
• Take ownership of projects from initial concept through to deployment, including user interaction and validation.
• Contribute to the design and presentation of team initiatives to other departments and stakeholders.
• Participate in upstream development for open-source projects like Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
• Share responsibility for the operational health of owned services through on-call duties.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience working across both backend and frontend development.
• Proficiency in using AI coding assistants and LLM tools as part of your development workflow.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in written documentation and cross-time zone collaboration.
• Familiarity with the observability landscape, including Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, and alerting systems.
• A product-oriented approach, focusing on user problems and solutions.

Nice to have

• Prior contributions to or maintenance of open-source projects.
• Experience building developer tools for a broad user base.
• Experience developing Grafana plugins, applications, or dashboards.
• Knowledge of Grafana Alloy, OpenTelemetry Collector, or similar telemetry pipeline tools.
• Experience with configuration-as-code languages like Jsonnet.
• Previous experience in an on-call rotation for systems you have instrumented.

Practical notes

• Compensation range in the US is USD $154,445 - $185.334 On-Target Earnings (OTE)/Base.
• Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) are included with all roles.
