About the role
We are seeking a Staff Product Analyst to join our Product Analytics team as a strategic partner for our AI organization. You will guide the measurement and evaluation of key AI initiatives, including Grafana Assistant, Investigations, and Agent Observability.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Establish top-level KPIs, build dashboards, and assist with product roadmap planning.
- Define success metrics for AI-powered features, focusing on engagement, adoption, quality, retention, and user outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to instrument product data for accurate analysis.
- Design and interpret experiments to evaluate the impact of new AI capabilities.
- Build dbt models to transform and test user behavior data alongside the Analytics Engineering team.
- Set standards and best practices for product analytics as the organization scales.
- Develop a long-term vision for product analytics that balances immediate needs with durable, scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Experience partnering with product and engineering teams using standard frameworks like A/B testing, funnels, and DAU/MAU.
- Background in defining and tracking success metrics for complex products, specifically AI-powered workflows.
- Proficiency in writing complex, efficient SQL.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Tableau, Looker, Omni, or Hex.
- Ability to write dbt models, implement tools like Amplitude, Heap, Pendo, or FullStory, and use git for version control.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor for prototyping, data modeling, and instrumentation.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical data insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of observability.
- Familiarity with Airflow or Prefect for generating ad hoc ETL jobs.

Practical notes
- Base compensation for Canada: $164,490 - $197,389 CAD.
- Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and 30 days of annual leave (inclusive of 3 company shutdown days).
- This is a remote position open to candidates in Canada or the USA.
- The company utilizes AI tools to assist in matching CV information to job postings, though manual review remains part of the process.
