About the role
This position focuses on the design, development, and maintenance of cloud networking systems that prioritize reliability, security, and scalability. You will create self-service platforms and automated workflows to manage network provisioning and orchestration across our cloud environments.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and oversee cloud network infrastructure including VPCs, Transit Gateways, subnets, route tables, peering, NAT, internet gateways, private endpoints, VPN, Direct Connect, DNS, and firewalls.
- Develop automation for network lifecycle management, configuration, and validation using Infrastructure as Code.
- Build internal APIs and orchestration systems to support self-service network requests, audit trails, and automated rollbacks.
- Establish standards for IP address management, CIDR allocation, routing, segmentation, tagging, and multi-region connectivity.
- Resolve complex issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, BGP, IPsec, MTU, routing, NAT, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Create automated checks to monitor for configuration drift, policy compliance, and security boundary integrity.
- Enhance network observability by developing dashboards, alerts, flow logs, and diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with security, platform, and application teams to ensure reliable cloud connectivity.
- Maintain documentation for system architectures and operational procedures.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering or cloud infrastructure management.
- 3+ years of direct experience designing and operating cloud network infrastructure on AWS or other major cloud providers.
- Mastery of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, VPN, BGP, IPsec, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Practical experience with AWS networking services like VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, Route 53, VPC endpoints, security groups, NACLs, and flow logs.
- Proficiency in software development using Go, Python, Java, or TypeScript.
- Experience building internal tools, platforms, or APIs for infrastructure orchestration.
- Competency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems across hybrid, cloud, and on-premises environments.
