About the role

The Department of Statistics is looking for a developer to build and support web applications while gaining exposure to machine learning and data engineering. You will work within a team focused on digital transformation to deliver software that supports national initiatives.

What you'll do

• Build and manage full stack web applications.
• Create and refine data pipelines to support machine learning models.
• Partner with data scientists and ML engineers to deploy AI solutions into production.
• Produce clean, efficient code while adhering to established technical standards.
• Perform code reviews and maintain technical documentation.
• Execute testing and debugging tasks across various environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Competency in at least one primary language: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
• Foundational knowledge of frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Foundational knowledge of backend frameworks like Django, Node.js, or Flask.
• Experience with Git for version control.
• Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI/ML concepts including RAG and MCP.
• Experience with data processing tools such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Background in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency with Docker and container orchestration.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
