About the role
The Department of Statistics is looking for a developer to build and support web applications while gaining exposure to machine learning and data engineering. You will work within a team focused on digital transformation to deliver software that supports national initiatives.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Build and manage full stack web applications.
- Create and refine data pipelines to support machine learning models.
- Partner with data scientists and ML engineers to deploy AI solutions into production.
- Produce clean, efficient code while adhering to established technical standards.
- Perform code reviews and maintain technical documentation.
- Execute testing and debugging tasks across various environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Competency in at least one primary language: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
- Foundational knowledge of frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Foundational knowledge of backend frameworks like Django, Node.js, or Flask.
- Experience with Git for version control.
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
Nice to have
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts including RAG and MCP.
- Experience with data processing tools such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Background in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency with Docker and container orchestration.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
