Senior Designer, Building Safety & Quality (BSQ)

About the role

You will join the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) team to modernize regulatory eServices for Singapore's built environment. This role focuses on the BSQ program, which aims to consolidate 15 legacy systems into one unified digital ecosystem for industry professionals.

What you'll do

• Direct end-to-end user research and service design projects within intricate problem domains.
• Convert research data into actionable strategies, service blueprints, and user journeys.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business experts to define product goals and user outcomes.
• Run workshops to build consensus and alignment among cross-functional teams.
• Transform complicated policy and operational requirements into clear, usable digital experiences.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other designers regarding research, quality, and stakeholder management.
• Promote evidence-based design by utilizing product analytics and user validation throughout the delivery cycle.
• Help develop design standards, frameworks, and internal team processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading UX or Service Design for complex digital products.
• Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and diverse stakeholder needs.
• High proficiency in communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
• Demonstrated ability to plan research and apply findings to product strategy.
• Ability to drive product direction using data and evidence.
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional product teams.
• Commitment to mentoring and elevating the design capabilities of team members.

Nice to have

• Experience in government or highly regulated sectors.
• Familiarity with ecosystem mapping, journey mapping, and service design methodologies.
• Experience utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research to guide product decisions.
• Experience working on large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
