About the role
This role involves building and maintaining the foundational systems that support Google global products. You will join the Technical Infrastructure team to design, deploy, and scale the hardware and software architecture that powers our services.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Write and verify code for system and product development.
- Lead or participate in design reviews to select appropriate technologies with stakeholders.
- Evaluate peer code to maintain standards for accuracy, efficiency, testability, and style.
- Create and update technical documentation based on program changes and user input.
- Investigate, track, and fix system issues by analyzing their impact on network, hardware, and service operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- 3 years of experience launching, testing, or maintaining software products.
- 3 years of experience in distributed systems, large-scale infrastructure, network development, storage, compute technologies, or hardware architecture.
- 1 year of experience in software architecture and design.
Nice to have
- Master degree or PhD in a technical field or Computer Science.
- 5 years of experience with algorithms and data structures.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership position.
- Experience building accessible technologies.
