What you'll do
- Develop and implement solutions for significant challenges by creating prototypes for generative AI, managing datasets, and constructing machine learning pipelines focused on generative media and reinforcement learning.
- Write and validate high-quality product code, conducting extensive testing that encompasses integration, performance, and security to ensure system reliability.
- Work closely with colleagues through thorough design and code reviews to uphold best practices, enhance system testability, and boost overall efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve intricate system problems by debugging and analyzing root causes, implementing solutions to optimize hardware, network, and service performance.
- Produce and update technical documentation and training materials, modifying content based on product changes and user feedback to maintain clarity and relevance. Manage the entire deployment lifecycle, contributing to system qualification, monitoring, process automation, and addressing technical debt for improved scalability.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in software development using Java, C, C++, Python, or Go.
- Experience in designing and implementing data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with systems thinking and analyzing technical issues from a comprehensive perspective.
- Knowledge of managing machine learning infrastructure, including model deployment, evaluation, optimization, and data processing.
- Proven ability to oversee the full lifecycle of applied research projects, from initial proof-of-concept to final implementation.
Nice to have
- Experience with generative AI technologies.

The salary range for this position in the United States is between $149,400 and $211,000, with an additional 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits that vary based on role, level, and location. Individual compensation is influenced by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education. This position is based in the Google office in Sunnyvale, CA, and may offer a hybrid work schedule in accordance with Google policies.
