About the role

You will join the YouTube Marketing Data Science, Infra and Analytics team to guide brand strategy and product adoption through quantitative research. This role involves analyzing user behavior during cultural events to improve engagement and retention for the YouTube platform.

What you'll do

• Develop and run studies to evaluate how marketing affects brand awareness and consideration using survey data and quasi-experimental methods.
• Apply machine learning models to identify which campaign elements most effectively influence the behavior of casual YouTube users.
• Create experiments to test the performance of cultural events in promoting specific features like Shorts creator tools or generative AI.
• Analyze the influence of organic and paid social media on audience growth and user acquisition from competing platforms.
• Partner with product and marketing departments to build experiments based on data-driven insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to perform regression analysis.

Nice to have

• Two years of professional experience using coding languages like Python, R, or SQL to solve business problems and query databases.
• A PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience performing causal inference analysis.

Practical notes

Compensation for this position in the US ranges from 116000 to 165000 USD, plus a 15 percent bonus target, equity, and benefits. Final pay is based on individual experience, education, and skills.
