About the role
GitLab seeks an Enablement leader to own the design, execution, and scaling of enablement programs for two critical VP organizations within the CRO, New Business and Sales Development/SMB. The role owner will architect and deliver content, training, and analytics that arm high velocity reps with the skills and tools needed to win complex deals. They will act as the central strategic partner for field leadership, translating business priorities into tailored learning experiences and execution plans. This position demands fluency in AI-driven enablement tools and a commitment to integrating AI into daily workflows to amplify productivity and impact. The hire will leverage data and feedback loops to iteratively improve program effectiveness and ensure alignment with product launches, campaigns, and global events. Success will be measured by the velocity and quality of sales execution across target markets. The Enablement Lead will co-create the future of DevSecOps enablement alongside a globally distributed, values-driven team.

What you'll do
Drive enablement strategy and content creation for two VP organizations, New Business and Sales Development/SMB, covering program build, training delivery, and analytics.
Partner with global field leadership to identify capability gaps, design tailored solutions, and deliver region-specific content that respects market nuances.
Scope and develop end-to-end enablement programs including product mastery, sales skills, onboarding journeys, and leadership development specific to New Business and Sales Development teams.
Collaborate with centralized enablement content, AI technology resources, and business subject matter experts to build role-specific curricula and learning paths.
Align enablement initiatives with critical milestones such as new product releases, customer meetings, marketing campaigns, and key industry trade shows.
Utilize Salesforce, Cornerstone, Gong, and other platforms to deploy training, educate the field on tool adoption, and surface gaps impacting New Business and Sales Development effectiveness.
Embed AI best practices into field workflows, focusing on account research, tiering strategies, and messaging frameworks to enhance seller productivity.
Create seller training job aids, supporting assets, and assessments that improve field competency and decision-making across the organization.
Measure and report on key enablement metrics, program outcomes, and ROI to guide continuous improvement and stakeholder decisions.
Identify innovation opportunities in learning delivery, leveraging data and feedback to modernize the experience for a distributed, high-performance sales organization.
Requirements
Demonstrated progressive experience in software sales, new business/sales development, or sales enablement roles with a track record of owning complex programs.
Consistent history of meeting deadlines and executing projects that deliver measurable impact for stakeholders across time zones.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships with sales leaders and their teams, influencing without direct authority.
Hands-on experience in software sales or sales enablement, with preferred expertise in DevOps and/or Open Source environments.
Working knowledge of sales training technology, learning platforms, and enablement methodologies with demonstrable practical application.
Strong analytical mindset, capable of interpreting data, identifying trends, and translating insights into actionable enablement strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable content for diverse audiences.
