Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

GEICO is looking for a senior individual contributor to advance our generative AI initiatives. You will work alongside software and AI engineers to build and deploy systems that solve complex business challenges.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Design and maintain high-performance AI solutions, including conversational agents, voice assistants, and document processing tools.
• Partner with product managers, data scientists, and designers to define project scopes and manage feature backlogs.
• Build integrations within the GEICO AI platform architecture and provide feedback to platform teams.
• Lead the development of new technical solutions by analyzing business processes and system architecture.
• Manage project planning and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff through design sessions and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience building scalable production AIML applications in cloud environments.
• 3 years of experience managing the full software development life cycle for backend systems and APIs, including Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD.
• 2 years of experience in model training, fine-tuning, and real-time or batch inferencing for LLMs and AIML models.
• 2 years of experience owning the end-to-end maintenance and improvement of scalable AIML applications.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar programming languages.

Nice to have

• 2 years of experience working with AWS or Azure cloud solutions.
• 2 years of experience with LLM agent tools, including RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
• 2 years of experience interfacing with business stakeholders regarding AI initiatives.
