About the role
GE Vernova is addressing the complexities of the power grid, influenced by renewable energy growth, security challenges, and extreme weather. As part of the GridOS platform team, the Software Integration & Deployment Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering software solutions to utility customers. This hands-on position involves deploying, configuring, validating, and troubleshooting GridOS Plan solutions within various customer environments.

What you'll do
- Implement and validate GridOS Plan solutions utilizing Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized services.
- Assist in deployments across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructures.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to deployment, configuration, networking, and Linux systems.
- Collaborate with customer IT and application teams for installation and integration efforts.
- Analyze data quality challenges involving telemetry, GIS, weather, asset, or operational data.
- Facilitate integrations via REST APIs, messaging, middleware, and file exchanges.
- Create or update data workflows, integration utilities, or scripts as required.
- Contribute to deployment automation, CI/CD practices, and release validation when applicable.
- Document deployment processes, data flows, interface mappings, and troubleshooting methods.
- Identify and propose enhancements for implementation efficiency and standardization.
- Provide clear updates and technical summaries to both internal and customer stakeholders.
- Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in software deployment or systems integration.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in system integrations and software development using REST APIs, messaging, middleware, or file exchanges.
- Proficiency in developing scripts, modules, or tools using Python, Java, Kotlin, or similar programming languages.
- Practical experience with software deployments in Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes-based or containerized applications.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience with Helm charts and troubleshooting in Kubernetes environments.
- Understanding of Linux command-line tools, logs, and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
- Familiarity with GIS data, asset management systems, or data validation processes.
- Exposure to utility software environments like EMS, ADMS, SCADA, or grid planning tools.
- Background in power systems, grid analytics, or related energy software.
- Strong documentation skills and experience in standardizing procedures or workflows.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and domain-specific workflows.

The salary range for this position is between $83,300 and $124,900, with potential geographic differentials of 110%, 120%, or 130% in certain areas. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
