About the role
Garage is seeking a creative leader to manage organic social content from concept to execution and analysis. This role requires a blend of creative production skills and a data-driven approach to growth marketing. You will be instrumental in building a strong online presence for Garage, focusing on the visually engaging world of essential industry vehicles.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and implement the organic social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, targeting both buyers and sellers.
- Produce the majority of video content yourself, including on-site customer shoots, conference coverage, and field work, ensuring platform-specific optimization for immediate engagement.
- Establish a consistent content production system with repeatable formats, series, and shot lists for efficient weekly output by a small team.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators such as retention, follower growth, shares, saves, website traffic from profiles, and direct contributions to listings and gross merchandise value.
- Use performance data to refine content strategy, eliminating underperforming formats and expanding successful ones, with clear explanations for these decisions.
- Identify and cultivate on-camera talent, including internal team members and external industry professionals like operators, mechanics, and fire chiefs.
- Provide top-performing organic creative for use in paid advertising, email campaigns, and conference materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- At least 4 years of experience creating video content specifically for social media, demonstrated by a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in both shooting and editing, including solo shoot management (framing, lighting, audio) and expertise in editing software (e.g., Premiere, Capcut, After Effects).
- Proven track record of growing a social media account or channel from scratch, with the ability to detail the metrics improved and the strategies used.
- Deep understanding of social media platform algorithms, current trending formats, and their distribution mechanisms.
- Ability to quickly test and iterate content with a rigorous analytical mindset.
- Willingness to travel for content shoots.
- Comfort operating with high autonomy in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in scaling marketplace businesses.
- History of building audiences within specialized, technical, or trade sectors, rather than broad consumer markets.
- Prior work with creators or subject matter experts as on-camera talent.
- Competence in photography and static design in addition to video production.
