Lead Product Designer - Platform & Experience

About the role

FutureFit AI is looking for a Lead Product Designer to guide the visual and interactive consistency of our entire platform. You will be responsible for leading the design of our most significant and complex feature initiatives from conception to completion.

What you'll do

• Define and maintain the platform's visual language, including components, patterns, typography, and motion.
• Ensure accessibility is integrated into the design process by default, meeting WCAG 2.2 AA and Section 508 standards.
• Create a unified design foundation that allows for deliberate divergence across different user experiences.
• Lead the end-to-end design of new product areas and major feature developments.
• Design complex interaction models and information architecture for AI-driven experiences and multi-step workflows.
• Conduct user research with job seekers, career counselors, and agency staff to inform design decisions.
• Mentor product managers and engineers on design best practices and raise overall design fluency.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in product design for complex B2B/B2G or enterprise SaaS platforms, beyond just consumer or marketing interfaces.
• Proven track record of owning and scaling a design system.
• Demonstrated fluency in accessible design, with experience meeting WCAG 2.2 AA / Section 508 standards in live products.
• Ability to think at a systems level and execute with pixel-level precision, with strong fundamentals in information architecture and interaction design.
• Experience designing for AI-mediated or recommendation-driven experiences, including surfacing model outputs and building user trust.
• Capability to conduct independent user research and translate findings into actionable design solutions.
• Skill in prioritizing design efforts across a broad product surface area.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital government, public benefit technology, or civic tech.
• Familiarity with workforce development or other highly regulated domains.
• Experience designing for multi-tenant platforms.
• Comfort acting as the senior-most design voice in discussions with executives and clients.

Practical notes

• This is a remote role open to candidates in Canada and the US.
• Occasional travel, up to once per quarter, may be required for offsites and team gatherings.
