About the role
Freshworks is seeking a leader to manage employee relations across the United States and Europe. You will help define the global ER strategy while handling complex workplace issues and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and execute ER strategies for the US and European markets.
- Manage day-to-day ER operations, including complex case management and performance-related matters.
- Coach HR Business Partners and managers on conflict resolution, mediation, and bias-aware decision-making.
- Partner with Legal to navigate works councils, trade unions, and local consultation requirements in Europe.
- Oversee involuntary exits and organizational changes with operational consistency.
- Use data and metrics to identify workplace trends and recommend systemic improvements.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regional employment laws.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of direct experience in Employee Relations, workplace investigations, and performance management.
- At least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity within a matrixed tech or enterprise software company.
- Hands-on experience managing ER matters in the US and Europe, specifically the UK, Germany, France, or the Netherlands.
- Expertise in US employment laws including FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, ADEA, Title VII, FLSA, and FEHA.
- Experience conducting and documenting high-risk investigations involving harassment, discrimination, or executive misconduct.
Nice to have
- JD, Master's in HR/Labor Relations, or advanced certifications such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP.
- Knowledge of employment laws in Canada, India, Israel, or Australia.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in HR technology and case management platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, or Smartsheet.
- Understanding of GDPR as it relates to workplace investigations.
- Strong knowledge of European Works Councils and local statutory consultation processes.
