About the role

Freedompay is seeking a skilled engineer to construct and manage production-ready data and AI systems within the Snowflake environment. This role involves hands-on development of data flows, models, integrations, and AI applications, utilizing Snowflake SQL, Cortex AI, and modern data engineering principles.

What you'll do

Construct, test, deploy, and maintain scalable data pipelines, transformations, and data models on Snowflake.

Develop and deploy AI and machine learning solutions using Snowflake Cortex AI, including AI agents and search functionalities.

Create, validate, and manage semantic views and associated business logic for governed AI and analytics.

Build and support data ingestion processes using Snowflake Openflow, Kafka, Snowpipe, APIs, and enterprise application connectors like NetSuite.

Develop reusable engineering components and automation using advanced SQL, SnowSQL, Python, and JavaScript.

Implement data quality checks, automated testing, observability, and error handling for reliable production workloads.

Optimize data models, queries, pipelines, and AI workloads for performance, scalability, and efficient use.

Design and implement secure Snowflake data sharing patterns for internal teams, partners, and customers.

Establish software engineering practices for Snowflake development, including version control, CI/CD, and documentation.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, applications, semantic layers, and data quality.

Collaborate with platform administration, security, and infrastructure teams on access, governance, and cost controls without owning administrative functions.

Work with data engineering, analytics, product, and business teams to translate use cases into data and AI solutions.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Snowflake data engineer, AI engineer, or analytics engineer delivering production solutions.

Strong proficiency in Snowflake SQL, with experience building data pipelines, transformations, data models, and performance-tuned workloads.

Experience developing and maintaining applications or AI/ML solutions using Snowflake Cortex AI or similar large language model technologies.

Experience designing semantic layers or views that translate business concepts into governed definitions for analytics and AI.

Proficiency in Python and experience with software engineering practices such as testing, source control, CI/CD, and code review.

Experience with streaming, event-driven, or connector-based ingestion using technologies like Kafka, Openflow, Snowpipe, or APIs.

Experience supporting production data platforms on Azure and integrating with enterprise identity and security patterns.

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex data, pipeline, application, and performance issues.

Capacity to collaborate effectively with platform administration, security, data engineering, analytics, application, and business teams.

Nice to have

Experience creating, deploying, and maintaining AI agents or generative AI applications in a production setting.

Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Snowpark, Streamlit in Snowflake, or native Snowflake application development.

Experience with Snowflake data sharing, Marketplace listings, secure data products, or customer-facing data delivery.

Experience implementing Openflow or Kafka-based ingestion and integrating SaaS or ERP sources like NetSuite.

Experience with Azure services, Azure AD SSO/SCIM integration, and secure cloud application patterns.

Experience working with SQL Server in a hybrid SQL Server and Snowflake environment.

JavaScript development experience.

Snowflake certifications.

Experience supporting regulated, payment, financial services, or other security-sensitive environments.
