This position is for a senior technical leader focused on advancing our company's approach to system visibility and operational intelligence. You will shape the future of how we understand and manage our applications and infrastructure.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain the company's strategy, standards, and roadmap for observability across all systems.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of Dynatrace SaaS and its advanced features.
- Build scalable telemetry architectures and establish OpenTelemetry standards.
- Design observability solutions for cloud-native environments, including Kubernetes and microservices.
- Integrate AIOps and agentic operations to improve issue detection, diagnosis, and automation.
- Create service health models, SLOs, dashboards, and alerting strategies.
- Work with engineering, SRE, platform, security, and operations teams to enhance observability adoption.
- Guide the shift from traditional monitoring to modern, adaptive operational models.
- Mentor other engineers and influence technical architecture and standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of experience in observability, monitoring, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Dynatrace SaaS and its current platform capabilities.
- Solid experience with OpenTelemetry, including instrumentation, collection, and architecture.
- Experience designing and deploying observability for cloud-native systems and distributed applications.
- Practical experience implementing AIOps or agentic operations.
- Strong understanding of metrics, logs, traces, event correlation, service health, and alerting.
- Ability to apply lessons from older monitoring methods to modern observability design.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and influence architectural decisions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience leading large-scale observability transformation projects.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with SRE principles like SLIs, SLOs, and incident response.
- Experience with automation, orchestration, and remediation workflows.
- Knowledge of observability tools beyond Dynatrace.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages like Python, Go, Bash, or JavaScript.
