System Administrator

About the role

Franklin Fitch is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator to support a variety of small and mid-sized business clients throughout the New York City area. You will manage diverse infrastructure projects and provide high-level technical support within a fast-paced managed services environment.

What you'll do

• Oversee Windows Server infrastructure for various client networks
• Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory environments
• Maintain and troubleshoot Hyper-V and VMware ESXi systems
• Implement and support networking hardware including switches, firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs
• Resolve complex issues spanning storage, cloud, networking, and server layers
• Direct infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and system enhancements
• Create automation scripts to streamline routine administrative duties
• Enforce security protocols, manage change documentation, and maintain system records
• Serve as a primary escalation contact for advanced technical problems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Windows Systems Administration
• 5+ years of experience supporting networking in managed services or enterprise settings
• 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft 365
• 2+ years of practical experience with Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency with VMware ESXi or Hyper-V
• Deep understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, NAT, ARP, VLANs, and VPNs
• Experience with the configuration and maintenance of firewalls and switches
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients
