About the role
Fleetio is seeking a product-focused Software Engineer to join our Growth Engineering team. This role is centered on enhancing how customers discover and utilize Fleetio's capabilities, focusing on improving initial user experiences, driving product adoption, and developing features that foster lasting engagement.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create features across the platform that simplify user value discovery and workflow adoption.
- Work with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Operations to translate insights into product enhancements.
- Build and test new features that directly influence customer growth and retention.
- Participate in experiments to validate product concepts and measure their impact.
- Contribute to technical planning and collaborate on solutions that balance user needs with technical quality.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years in professional software development.
- At least 1 year of experience working with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience developing modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Proven ability to build full-stack web applications and user-facing features.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and relational databases, including PostgreSQL.
- Experience writing efficient database queries and managing application data.
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks.
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.

Nice to have
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation tools, or feature flagging systems.
- Familiarity with product analytics or user behavior tracking platforms like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Heap.
- Experience using customer data to guide product development.
- Background in improving user onboarding, activation, or engagement flows.
- Project experience with Tailwind CSS.
- Knowledge of the fleet management industry.
