Join Fleetio's Marketplace Engineering Team as a Senior Software Engineer. You will contribute to a platform that helps organizations manage their vehicle fleets by connecting them with essential products and services. This role focuses on developing features for service scheduling, approvals, transactions, and payment processing.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Plan, design, and implement new features for the Marketplace platform, focusing on service scheduling, completion, and payments.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in the architectural design of new features.
- Write well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.
- Research and prototype solutions to validate technical feasibility and assumptions.
- Contribute significantly to development and planning processes.
- Conduct thorough code reviews for peers to ensure quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
- 2+ years of experience with ReactJS and Typescript.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Expertise with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in data modeling and optimizing query performance.
- Prior experience with payment systems such as Stripe or Brex.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex architectural problems through sound design.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks.
- Excellent written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Expertise in consuming and integrating external APIs or webhooks.
- Experience leading small teams or projects.
- Familiarity with the fleet management industry.
- Previous experience building APIs for consumer or mobile applications.

This is a remote position open to candidates in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
