Fleetio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance our Marketplace, focusing on payment processing and shop integrations. You will contribute to building features that connect customers with service providers, streamline transactions, and improve data management for fleet operations. This role is for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and building scalable solutions.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Design and implement new functionalities for the Marketplace platform, specifically around service scheduling, approvals, payments, and data capture.
• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality software.
• Contribute to the architectural design of new features and systems.
• Write well-tested, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Investigate technical approaches and build prototypes to confirm feasibility.
• Actively participate in development planning and decision-making processes.
• Provide constructive code reviews for team members to ensure quality and share knowledge.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience developing with Ruby on Rails.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience using ReactJS and Typescript.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Proficiency with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL.
• Expertise in data modeling and optimizing database query performance.
• Prior experience working with payment processing systems (e.g., Stripe, Brex).
• Proven ability to solve complex architectural challenges through thoughtful design.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience integrating with external APIs and handling webhooks.
• Previous experience leading small technical teams or projects.
• Familiarity with the fleet management industry.
• Experience building APIs for consumer or mobile applications.
