Principal Product Manager, Telematics & Connected Ecosystem
About the role
Fleetio is seeking a Principal Product Manager to spearhead our strategy for telematics and connected vehicle data. This role involves building a new product line from the ground up, focusing on how we acquire and utilize real-time vehicle information. You will define the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion to the creation of innovative products.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for Fleetio's telematics and connected vehicle data, covering data acquisition and product development.
- Oversee Fleetio's connected hardware strategy, including managing relationships with white-label and OEM device providers.
- Establish data partnerships to directly integrate telematics, OEM, and connected vehicle data for fleet customers.
- Drive the development of new capabilities and partner-driven features from concept to launch, identifying and validating opportunities.
- Lead the discovery and delivery of user experiences powered by this data, such as live fleet visualization, location intelligence, and vehicle health insights.
- Expand and strengthen Fleetio's ecosystem of integrations and strategic alliances with existing fleet tools and data providers.
- Ensure incoming data from partners and connected sources is standardized, reliable, and actionable across the Fleetio platform.
- Cultivate and manage strategic partner relationships, acting as a key product representative.
- Collaborate with Design to create intuitive and valuable connected and partner-driven user experiences.
- Work with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience teams on product positioning, launches, and adoption strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years in product management, with a history of launching and scaling B2B SaaS products, particularly in technically complex domains.
- Proven ability to lead ambiguous, early-stage initiatives (0 to 1 or 1 to n) with significant business impact and a high degree of autonomy.
- Experience with telematics, connected vehicles, OEM data, or IoT/connected device data, and the products built upon it.
- Demonstrated experience in building and managing strategic partner or ecosystem relationships.
- A track record of transforming technical products into successful businesses through effective packaging and go-to-market strategies.
- Experience with a mix of product-led and sales-led growth approaches.
- A strategic, analytical, and data-informed approach to decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in fleet management, automotive, transportation, mobility, or vertical SaaS industries.
- Familiarity with hardware products or managing OEM/white-label hardware relationships.
- Experience with geospatial data, mapping, or large-scale real-time data streaming.
- Background in marketplace, multi-sided, or platform business models.
