Global Controller at Fleetio
About the role
Fleetio is seeking a Global Controller to oversee and enhance our accounting operations as we expand our international SaaS and payments business. This role is critical in scaling our financial infrastructure to support significant company growth.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the entire accounting function, including month-end close, financial reporting, global consolidations, internal controls, and external audits.
- Manage tax operations, billing, collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Develop and refine accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability for a multi-entity, multi-currency global business.
- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Finance Systems, RevOps, and FP&A to drive automation and enhance data quality in accounting operations.
- Ensure accounting readiness for future strategic transactions, such as financing rounds or acquisitions.
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is mandatory.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience leading and scaling accounting departments within fast-growing technology companies.
- Demonstrated experience managing accounting for businesses with diverse revenue streams, including SaaS and payment processing.
- Proven track record of leading accounting teams across financial reporting, close processes, audits, controls, tax, payroll, and billing/collections.
- Experience operating in environments with multiple legal entities and handling multiple currencies.
- Ability to improve the scalability, efficiency, and predictability of accounting operations while maintaining strong financial controls.
- Excellent executive communication skills and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO.
- Experience in developing leaders and building effective, accountable accounting teams.
- Proficiency in utilizing systems, automation, data, and AI to optimize accounting functions.

- Experience with recurring revenue models, payment settlements, reconciliation, and financial controls related to money movement.
