About the role
Fleetio seeks an Engineering Manager to guide our Growth Engineering teams in accelerating customer and business success through product-led expansion. You will build and develop high-performing teams focused on user activation, adoption, and revenue generation across the customer lifecycle.

What you'll do
- Lead the Growth 1 and Growth 2 engineering teams, aligning them with a unified growth mission and roadmap.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering leadership to identify strategic technical opportunities and shape the product direction.
- Enhance engineering execution by proactively addressing dependencies, removing obstacles, and ensuring efficient delivery of value.
- Facilitate structured experimentation programs to improve user activation, adoption, conversion, engagement, and retention.
- Elevate engineering standards through coaching on code quality, testing, observability, experimentation discipline, and product-focused development.
- Translate experiment outcomes, usage data, and customer feedback into actionable engineering priorities and roadmap suggestions.
- Manage and develop a team of approximately 7-8 direct reports, fostering their growth as skilled engineers with strong product sense and analytical abilities.
- Mentor engineers through regular one-on-one meetings, feedback, and performance discussions.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture where engineers are empowered to solve customer problems and drive continuous improvement.
- Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent to enhance the Growth organization's capabilities.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience managing engineering teams as an Engineering Manager or technical lead.
- Demonstrated success leading engineering teams focused on product-led growth, experimentation, user onboarding, activation, adoption, engagement, retention, monetization, or conversion optimization.
- Extensive experience in designing and running experimentation programs, including A/B testing, defining guardrail metrics, understanding statistical significance, analyzing results, and applying learnings to product strategy.
- Practical familiarity with analytics and event data tools such as Snowflake, Segment, Growthbooks, or comparable systems.
- Experience coaching engineers on experimentation best practices, engineering quality, execution speed, and long-term system maintainability.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with Product, Design, and Data teams as a strategic collaborator.
- Experience managing engineering teams for SaaS web applications; Ruby on Rails and React experience is a plus.
- A strong history of developing engineers, setting clear expectations, and enabling teams to achieve measurable results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
