The FIZZ organization is currently seeking multiple interns to join its Product team in the capacity of Product Research Interns. This position involves working directly with Arabic-speaking users in the Middle East to gather valuable insights and feedback regarding the product experience. The candidate must be a native Arabic speaker and a self-starter who requires little supervision to complete tasks independently. This role offers a great chance to understand product development through direct user interaction and research, providing meaningful learning opportunities.
Key facts
This is a remote internship position available on a part-time basis for the duration of the internship. The intern will work approximately fifteen hours each week to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. The starting pay is no less than fourteen dollars per hour, which will be raised automatically if local or state minimum wage laws demand a higher rate. Monthly evaluations will assess performance and determine continued eligibility for the position.
What you'll do
Arrange and manage research sessions with Arabic-speaking users located in the Middle East, focusing specifically on the GCC and Egypt regions.
Bridge cultural and linguistic divides by conducting research that connects the US-based team with Arabic-speaking users from the Middle East.
Summarize key takeaways from user research sessions and apply these valuable insights to shape the overall product roadmap.
Ensure all scheduled meetings occur promptly by maintaining strict coordination of timing and logistics for the research team.
Translate research findings into actionable product direction for the team to review and consider carefully.
Coordinate schedules to guarantee that all user research sessions happen exactly on time without any delays.
Distill complex learnings from sessions into clear and concise summaries for the product group to consume.
Work closely with the US based team to ensure alignment on Middle East user needs and expectations.
Identify translation gaps and resolve them quickly before they impact the research outcomes or user understanding.
Influence the direction of the product by presenting distilled learnings to leadership and advocating for user needs.
Requirements
Possess native-level Arabic fluency in reading, writing, and speaking without any hesitation or error.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of Middle Eastern culture and the various customs found in the region.
Be a current college student who is over the age of eighteen and enrolled in classes.
Maintain a solid grasp on the Fizz product and its core features and functionality.
Remain incredibly organized when coordinating schedules and ensuring that all sessions happen on time consistently.
Exhibit strong written skills in both the Arabic and English languages for clear communication.
Show the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team of colleagues.
Be available to work fifteen hours per week with hours evenly distributed across the schedule.
Nice to have
Previous experience conducting user research sessions in a professional or academic setting would be highly beneficial for this role.
Familiarity with the GCC and Egypt regions beyond just language skills and cultural awareness is a wonderful asset.
Prior background in product management or product development environments is a strong advantage for someone applying to this position.
Comfort with using various remote collaboration software and digital scheduling tools for coordination purposes is also appreciated.
A genuine interest in learning how technology products are built from the ground up is always a plus.

Practical notes
This is a paid, hourly position that requires approximately fifteen hours of work each week to be completed successfully.
The starting pay rate is at least fourteen dollars per hour, automatically adjusted if state or local minimum wage is higher than the base rate.
Performance will be formally evaluated at the end of each month to ensure standards are met and expectations are fulfilled.
