This position focuses on the core systems that ensure Firecrawl operates with speed and dependability against a constantly evolving and resistant web. You will be involved in complex engineering tasks, aiming to maintain high success rates when dealing with sites that employ strong protective measures, managing the proxy infrastructure essential for large-scale, reliable data acquisition, and enhancing throughput and stability under demanding and fluctuating workloads.

What you'll do

Develop and manage the underlying systems that support dependable data collection at scale.

Enhance the ability to successfully access websites that have robust defenses.

Oversee the operational status, rotation, and cost-effectiveness of the proxy network.

Increase system throughput and reliability when facing significant and unpredictable demand.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex, intermittent issues across the entire system, ensuring lasting fixes.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of experience in backend, networking, or infrastructure engineering.

Demonstrated experience with networking, proxy systems, or high-volume backend services.

A strong commitment to system reliability and comfort with challenging, adversarial environments.

The ability to take full ownership of a system and maintain its production health.

A preference for rapid iteration and learning through shipping and measuring, rather than extensive upfront planning.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not currently available.

Nice to have

Experience with debugging difficult, intermittent failures across distributed systems.
