Fintal Partners is hiring a Senior Python Software Engineer to support a proprietary trading firm. You will build the core technology that enables quantitative research and live market operations.

• Create and support Python applications designed for live trading and research workflows.
• Develop internal tools, frameworks, and APIs for traders and researchers.
• Construct distributed systems and data pipelines to manage market analytics.
• Optimize production trading infrastructure for better performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with researchers to move models from the research phase into production environments.
• Lead technical architecture discussions and conduct code reviews.
• Mentor junior team members and assess new technologies for the engineering stack.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Python development.
• Background in building large-scale production software.
• Proficiency in software architecture, distributed systems, data structures, and API design.
• Experience working within Linux environments and modern development pipelines.
• Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, and industry standard engineering practices.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional technical teams.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a hedge fund, market maker, or proprietary trading firm.
• Experience developing software specifically for trading teams or quantitative researchers.
• Familiarity with the scientific Python stack including NumPy, Pandas, Polars, and PyArrow.
• Proficiency in systems programming languages such as Rust or C++.
