Senior ML Science Manager

About the role

Fin is looking for a leader to guide a team of machine learning scientists as the company scales its AI customer agent product. You will oversee a group of over 10 scientists across international offices, ensuring the rapid development and deployment of high-impact AI features.

What you'll do

• Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 10+ ML scientists located in Dublin, London, and Berlin.
• Partner with engineering, product, and design leadership to define the team roadmap and product impact.
• Drive team performance, productivity, and reliability in a fast-paced production environment.
• Grow the team through active recruitment and promote the group brand through internal and external initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading, developing, and supporting high-performing ML teams.
• 5+ years of individual contributor experience in AI, ML, NLP, or data-related fields.
• Strong technical background in applied machine learning and software development.
• Ability to work effectively in an autonomous, ambiguous environment.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and cross-functional collaboration.
• MSc or PhD in an ML-related field or equivalent practical knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping user-facing ML products.
• Background in a research-focused environment.
• Expertise in NLP, deep learning, Bayesian methods, reinforcement learning, or clustering.
• Proficiency in data visualization and SQL.
• Deep understanding of software engineering best practices.
• Previous experience hiring and building ML teams.
