About the role
Fin is seeking a Head of Design to lead all design efforts for our next-generation payments platform. This individual will be the sole designer, responsible for shaping the product's visual and interactive experience from concept to launch. The role demands a hands-on approach, working closely with engineering and leadership to deliver high-quality design solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain Fin's design system for consistency across mobile and web platforms.
- Influence product strategy by contributing strong product thinking to define features and their purpose.
- Create high-quality visual UI, focusing on interaction details and polished features.
- Quickly iterate through concepts, prototypes, and final product designs.
- Handle diverse design tasks, including core product UI, marketing materials, and brand touchpoints.
- Collaborate daily with engineers and cofounders to transform ambiguous problems into clear, buildable designs.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability in product and interaction design.
- Capability to independently manage design projects from an undefined starting point.
- Strong product judgment and willingness to question initial solutions.
- Proficiency with current design and prototyping software.
- Capacity to produce and refine design work rapidly.
- Experience operating within a small, agile team.
- Comfort addressing a wide range of design challenges without specialized assistance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with founders and engineers.
- High sense of ownership for shipped products.
Nice to have
- Experience with consumer products, SMB products, or other software with high UX standards.
- Background in fintech.
