Senior Engineering Manager, Customer Agent

About the role

Fin is expanding its AI Customer Agent capabilities to cover the entire customer lifecycle, including sales, ecommerce, and success. We are seeking a hands-on leader to manage teams within this high-growth group as we compete against aggressive AI-native startups. You will drive product outcomes, mentor senior engineering talent, and shape our AI-first development culture.

What you'll do

• Own strategic work streams from inception to completion, ensuring measurable business impact.
• Lead from the front by deeply engaging with product requirements, customer challenges, and technical architecture.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Sales, and machine learning teams to build a unified agent experience.
• Guide engineers through ambiguous problem spaces and set high standards for execution under tight deadlines.
• Develop senior and staff-level engineers through direct, actionable feedback and coaching.
• Partner with the Engineering Director to define group strategy, resource allocation, and roadmap priorities.
• Participate in hands-on tasks, including coding, technical analysis, or cross-functional problem solving, when necessary.
• Advance our AI-first engineering practices by utilizing and refining our internal AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

• Exceptional people leadership skills combined with a strong bias for action.
• Experience operating in early-stage product environments with high levels of ambiguity.
• Strong product engineering instincts with a focus on fast iteration and customer-centric solutions.
• Technical credibility to review architecture and engage in deep discussions with senior engineers.
• Ability to communicate complex project needs to leadership and align stakeholders across the organization.
• High degree of autonomy and critical thinking regarding business goals.
• Proven ability to manage product-focused engineering teams (this role does not manage ML scientists or ML engineers directly).

Nice to have

• Demonstrated experience experimenting with and implementing AI-assisted development workflows.
