About the role
Fin builds AI-powered customer service agents to help businesses deliver exceptional customer experiences. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the platforms that enable these AI solutions, ensuring trust and reliability for our users. You will collaborate with engineering teams to fortify our cloud infrastructure, detect threats, and respond to incidents.

What you'll do
- Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure within our AWS environments.
- Develop and maintain security measures that enhance visibility into cloud threats.
- Create detection capabilities to identify malicious activity and shorten response times.
- Lead investigations and incident response efforts alongside engineering colleagues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to manage security incidents.
- Automate processes to improve the efficiency and scalability of security controls.
- Integrate security practices into cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering workflows.
- Establish and refine cloud security standards and best practices for Fin.
- Drive security projects from conception to completion, measuring their impact.
- Evaluate new threats to cloud environments and enhance our defenses.
- Contribute to Fin's AI-first security strategy, including AI-assisted detection and automated investigations.
- Support the secure use of AI tools in software development.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in cloud security, security engineering, or detection engineering.
- Proven experience securing and operating production AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, common attack methods, and security best practices.
- Experience building or managing detection, monitoring, or threat detection systems.
- Hands-on experience investigating security incidents and driving resolution.
- Experience implementing security controls in cloud platforms and production systems.
- Proficiency in programming and building automation or operational tools.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native technologies.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity.
- Ability to clearly explain security concepts and work effectively with engineering teams.
- A practical approach to balancing security needs with business and engineering goals.
Nice to have
- Experience building detection engineering, threat hunting, or security operations at scale.
- Experience with cloud-native security platforms, CNAPP tools, or large-scale cloud security monitoring.
- Experience applying AI to security detection, response, or operations.
- Familiarity with AWS networking, identity management, and cloud security patterns.
- Experience in both large-scale SaaS environments and high-growth companies.
