About the role
Figure is developing autonomous humanoid robots designed for general-purpose use in residential and commercial settings. We are establishing our first data operations facility in San Paulo, Brazil, and seeking a technical lead to manage the hardware and infrastructure that powers our AI training systems.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage all technical aspects of the facility including hardware inventory, maintenance, and floor support.
- Assemble, calibrate, and maintain capture equipment such as sensor suits, headsets, cameras, and networking gear.
- Build and oversee systems for asset tracking and preventive maintenance to ensure continuous operation.
- Perform first-line hardware diagnostics and resolve technical issues during shifts to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with engineering teams in California by documenting faults and managing the RMA process for imported parts.
- Instruct Data Creators on proper equipment usage, sensor placement, and capture techniques.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for technical setups and troubleshooting.
- Assist in scaling the technical team through onboarding and mentoring of field technicians.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in field service, laboratory maintenance, or electronics repair.
- Ability to perform systematic troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
- Proficiency with bench tools including multimeters, cabling, firmware flashing, and network configuration.
- Strong documentation habits for maintenance logs, inventory tracking, and technical reporting.
- Professional proficiency in English for technical documentation and collaboration with US-based engineers.
- Availability for a morning shift with flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, including occasional weekend coverage.
Nice to have
- Technical certification or degree in electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Background in VR/AR headsets, motion capture systems, robotics, or drones.
- Experience with international RMA processes or managing imported specialized equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS or asset management systems.
- Skills in soldering, 3D printing, or custom fixture fabrication.
- Previous work history in high-growth startup environments.
