About the role
Figure builds general purpose humanoid robots designed to address labor shortages and hazardous work environments. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee our Incoming Quality Lab at our San Jose facility. This role requires an on-site presence five days per week.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Supervise the Incoming Quality Lab, including equipment maintenance, workflow prioritization, and daily operations.
- Create quality control documentation and work instructions.
- Direct QC inspectors during visual, functional, and dimensional testing.
- Manage Material Review Board processes and lead meetings to address quality issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct inspections based on established QC plans.
- Validate First Article Inspection Reports.
- Open non-conformance reports and track quality status updates.
- Maintain a tidy and efficient workspace.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
- Ability to analyze CAD models and technical engineering drawings.
- Deep knowledge of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5-2009 or ASME Y14.5-2018).
- Expertise in C=0 sampling plans and ASQ Z1.4/MIL-STD-105.
- Competency with standard measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, and digital height gages.
- High precision and accuracy in a rapid production setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on numeracy and data analysis.
Nice to have
- Experience with OMM and CMM equipment.
- Professional certifications including ASQ CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA.
- Background in high-tech or robotics sectors.
- Familiarity with industrial engineering concepts, quality management systems, and manufacturing workflows.
