Software Engineer, Mobile Web

About the role

Figma is seeking engineers to join the Mobile Product team to enhance our iOS and Android companion applications. You will bridge the gap between web and native environments to deliver high-quality design and collaboration tools to our global user base.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and native engineers to port popular features to mobile platforms.
• Develop and maintain web interfaces and backend endpoints integrated into our mobile apps.
• Adapt web-first features for mobile-friendly environments.
• Engage in user research and testing to refine the product experience.
• Manage the testing, release, and ongoing maintenance of mobile applications.
• Document architectural requirements and provide technical feedback to peers.
• Participate in on-call rotations and release shepherd responsibilities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in fullstack web-based mobile development.
• 2+ years of professional experience in native Android or iOS application development.
• Proficiency in mobile and web product development lifecycles.
• Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams including design, data science, and research.
• Pragmatic coding habits focused on maintainability and performance.
• Strong product intuition and a commitment to understanding user needs.
• Interest in mentoring team members and improving engineering culture.

Nice to have

• Willingness to learn and adopt new technology stacks.
• Experience driving changes to development practices across an organization.
• Ability to create initial UI drafts using standard mobile design patterns.
