Figma is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Developer Tools team, a key initiative based in London. This role involves building solutions for frontend and full stack developers, accelerating their journey from concept to production. You will shape the future of Figma's developer offerings, potentially incubating new products, and integrating design thinking with AI and open source tools.

What you'll do

• Manage and support product engineers focused on Figma's developer offerings, including Dev Mode, MCP, and Code Connect.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other functions to coordinate work.
• Define and execute your team's strategy and roadmap with autonomy and quality.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure cohesive product experiences and appropriate technical abstractions.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Contribute to Figma's inclusive and diverse team culture through hiring and community engagement.

Requirements

• 2 or more years of experience managing software engineers who build products for external users.
• A history of building AI-powered products with excellent user experience, both as a manager and individual contributor.
• Demonstrated ability to link engineering and product work to clear business results.
• Proven leadership in building and growing high-performing engineering teams, including mentoring senior engineers.
• Strong capability to lead fast-moving teams that balance innovation with execution.
• Genuine interest in new AI technologies and their application to user-facing products.

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale systems using React, C++, or Ruby.
• Experience building or maintaining open source software or libraries for developers.
• Knowledge of generative AI, RAG, fine-tuning processes, and their application to creative products.
