Senior Accountant

About the role

Figma is seeking two Senior Accountants to join our Corporate Accounting team. These roles focus on either General and Administrative or Sales and Marketing expense accounting, with a heavy emphasis on using AI and automation to modernize financial processes.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage month-end and quarter-end close tasks including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Handle specific accounting areas such as cash, payroll, benefits, ASC 842 leases, fixed assets, or OPEX allocations depending on the specific role.
• Perform flux analysis and prepare financial reporting packages.
• Partner with G&A or S&M stakeholders to provide accounting guidance and support business initiatives.
• Utilize AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT to automate manual workflows and improve process efficiency.
• Assist with annual audits, SOX compliance, and internal control maintenance.
• Support system implementations and adapt to evolving responsibilities as the company scales.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with direct ownership of month-end close.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, specifically with Power Query and complex formulas.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build partnerships across departments.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of experience in public accounting or a high-growth SaaS environment.
• Experience working within SOX and public company control frameworks.
• Familiarity with Numeric, Zip, Ramp, or Navan.
• CPA certification or active CPA candidate status.
