About the role
Fieldguide is seeking a dedicated Event Manager to oversee our presence at industry conferences and trade shows. You will be responsible for the complete event process, from initial planning and vendor selection to onsite management and post-event analysis. This role is crucial for building brand recognition, nurturing relationships, and driving business opportunities.

What you'll do
- Design and implement strategies for conferences, trade shows, and related field marketing activities.
- Handle all event logistics, including booth setup, vendor coordination, shipping, attendee registration, and staffing.
- Establish event goals, target audiences, activation plans, schedules, budgets, and success metrics.
- Collaborate with Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, Partnerships, Product Marketing, and Executive teams to ensure event alignment with company objectives.
- Develop comprehensive plans for before, during, and after events to boost attendance, generate quality leads, and advance sales opportunities.
- Oversee booth design and on-site experience, including product demonstrations, executive meetings, and branding elements.
- Identify and organize supplementary events such as executive dinners, customer appreciation events, and partner gatherings.
- Manage speaker arrangements, session details, and content requirements for thought leadership opportunities.
- Act as the main point of contact for event organizers, venues, production companies, and other suppliers.
- Prepare internal event documentation, staffing schedules, executive communications, and operational guides.
- Ensure event leads are properly recorded, assigned, and followed up on in coordination with Sales and Marketing Operations.
- Evaluate event performance against key metrics like engagement, pipeline generation, and return on investment.
- Conduct post-event reviews to gather insights and propose improvements for future events.
- Maintain the annual event schedule, managing multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines, budgets, and brand guidelines.
- Travel as needed to provide hands-on support and manage onsite operations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience managing conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, or B2B field marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage complex, high-profile events from concept to completion.
- A solid understanding of how events contribute to brand awareness, thought leadership, pipeline development, and sales acceleration.
- Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience managing event budgets, contracts, vendors, and external partners.
- Ability to work effectively with sales teams, executives, partners, speakers, and external stakeholders.
- Comfort working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and concurrent deadlines.
- Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, project management, and event technology platforms.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30-40% of the time, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move event materials up to 50 pounds.
Nice to have
- Experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise technology, accounting, audit, risk, or professional services.
- Experience creating executive experiences, customer events, and partner activations in conjunction with major conferences.
- Familiarity with campaign attribution, pipeline reporting, lead management, and event ROI analysis.
- Experience managing a portfolio of national or international conferences.
