Senior Software Engineer in Test

About the role

Field Ai develops intelligent robotics systems designed for real-world environments. We are looking for an experienced engineer to build high-quality testing frameworks that ensure our embodied AI performs reliably in the field.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain automated testing suites using Playwright.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure code testability and conduct pull request reviews.
• Create automated tests for REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated testing into the deployment process.
• Debug web architectures, network calls, and DOM elements to maintain system stability.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 to 8 years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar object-oriented or functional languages.
• Expertise in Playwright, including custom fixtures, network mocking, multi-auth state management, and Page Object Models.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or GitLab CI.
• A shift-left approach to quality assurance.

Nice to have

• Experience testing complex systems like microfrontends, high-frequency state dashboards, or real-time data streaming apps.
• Background in hardware, IoT, or robotics, particularly involving physical devices or simulation environments.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP and Docker for scaling test agents.
• Ability to improve product observability and close testing gaps.
