About the role
Field Ai is seeking a Project Manager to oversee complex technology initiatives from initial planning through final delivery. You will work onsite in Irvine to bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and business objectives, ensuring our robotics systems are ready for real-world deployment.

What you'll do
- Manage multi-project portfolios by defining milestones, overseeing budgets, and coordinating resources across product, engineering, and field operations.
- Align cross-functional teams to clarify dependencies, project scope, and timelines for robot deployment programs.
- Collaborate with customer success and operations to ensure go-to-market readiness and compliance with safety and scalability standards.
- Monitor program metrics to track progress, report on ROI, and provide financial updates to investors and leadership.
- Draft executive communications, board materials, and investor presentations.
- Identify and resolve technical or operational bottlenecks to keep programs on schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program support, project coordination, or operations within a technical environment.
- Ability to convert high-level goals into detailed task lists and project timelines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience coordinating engineering staff.
- Proficiency in project tracking software such as Jira, Asana, or Monday.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances or export control authorizations for defense programs.
Nice to have
- Master degree in a technical field.
- PMP certification.
- Experience in aerospace, autonomy, defense, or robotics engineering.
- Knowledge of government contracting, including SOWs, SBIRs, or deliverable-based contracts.
- Background working with technical leads to establish milestone definitions and acceptance criteria.
- Experience in a high-growth startup.
- Familiarity with managing projects related to rugged ground autonomy.
