About the role
Join the Technical Operations department to manage the production environment for the FedNow Service, a 24/7 real-time payment platform. You will apply software and systems engineering principles to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of this mission-critical distributed system.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and deploy monitoring solutions for capacity planning, utilization tracking, and system scaling.
- Design and develop automation for CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
- Manage resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning, including testing.
- Identify architectural gaps and run experiments to test system limits.
- Oversee ITIL processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives for the FedNow program.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for automation and operational tooling.
- Expertise in AWS services including EC2, EKS, RDS, Aurora, S3, Route 53, ELB, and IAM.
- Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Background in supporting infrastructure for large-scale, multi-service, containerized applications.
- Must have resided in the United States for at least three years.
- Salary range: $140,000 to $210,900.
Nice to have
- Experience with Hashicorp tools: Terraform, Consul, Vault, and Ansible.
- Familiarity with fault injection tools such as AWS Fault Injection Simulator, Gremlin, ChaosToolkit, or Chaos Monkey.
- Observability experience using CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus.

- Employment is contingent upon passing a two-phase security screening, including a physical exam, drug test, credit check, and criminal history check.
